Organized Crime South Unit
Geographically assigned to the southern region of the State, the Organized Crime South Unit is responsible for gathering, evaluating, and disseminating intelligence data pertaining to organized criminal groups/activity with a nexus to public corruption, that affects and is related to the southern seven counties.
While monitoring the activities of traditional and non-traditional organized criminal groups, the Organized Crime South Unit has been directed by the Superintendent to also monitor evolving problems created by less well-known non-traditional organized crime groups.
In the course of their duties, the Organized Crime South Unit works cooperatively with federal, state, county and local law enforcement authorities to investigate official corruption, illegal gambling, loan sharking, narcotics trafficking, money laundering, labor racketeering and Alcohol Beverage Control violations.
