Youth Leadership Safety Program Course
The New Jersey State Police, Field Operations Sections, Operations Safety Bureau, Community Services Unit will conduct a 40 hour training course to be held at the:
Morris County Public Safety Training Academy, Parsippany, New Jersey, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.,
Monday, June 14, 2010, through Friday, June 18, 2010.
The Youth Leadership Safety course is a week-long school and is a collaborative effort designed for Elementary and Middle school students. It offers a classroom educational safety awareness curriculum with strategies focusing on the development of social competence, communication skills, respect, responsibilities, decision- making and bullying. This course is recognized and sponsored in part by the New Jersey Association of School Resource Officers.
Officers who are currently certified in one of the following school-based programs; the School Resource Officer (SRO) Training, the Drug Abuse Resistance Education (DARE) and/or the Gang Resistance Education and Training (GREAT) are eligible to attend an 8 hour familiarization and adaption training day to be held only on Wednesday, June 16, 2010.
