Major Gayle
Cameron
Presently, Major Gayle Cameron serves as the Commanding Officer
of the Administration Section of the New Jersey State Police
overseeing the efforts of over 175 members.
Major Cameron began her career in 1980 as a road duty trooper
in Southern New Jersey. Prior to her class graduating, only
two women served as troopers for the New Jersey State Police.
Her ascent through the ranks began in 1984 when she was promoted
to the rank of Detective. She served in various investigative
units including posing as an undercover operative for numerous
Organized Crime assignments. Other notable assignments included
Executive Protection for New Jersey’s first female Governor,
Christie Whitman, Assistant Station Commander and, Unit Supervisor
for Equal Opportunity Investigations. A promotion to Captain
in 2001, brought opportunities to serve as the Forensic Science
Bureau Chief, Command Operations Center then as the Executive
Officer of the Identification and Information Technology Section.
Major Cameron was promoted to the rank of Major in 2004 in
the Identification and Information Technology Section. She
was assigned as Commanding Officer of the Division Human Resources
Section in 2005 and is presently assigned as the Commanding
Officer of the Administration Section.
Prior to joining the ranks of the New Jersey State Police,
Major Cameron graduated from Bridgewater State College, Bridgewater,
Massachusetts, where she captained the varsity volleyball
and softball teams. She later obtained a Masters of Art degree
in Education from Seton Hall University, South Orange, New
Jersey. |

Captain
Annemarie DeAngelo
Captain Annemarie DeAngelo is a native of Mercer County.
She joined the ranks of the New Jersey State Police in 1980.
She spent 5 years assigned to various stations in the southern
and central regions of the state as a general road duty trooper.
She was assigned to the Intelligence Section and Investigations
Sections as a detective.
Captain DeAngelo began training dogs in 1980 and was responsible
for establishing the New Jersey State Police Canine Program
in 1987. The unit continued to grow and now is the largest
canine unit in the state.
She received her Bachelor of Science degree from Thomas Edison
State College and is currently pursuing her Masters in Science
at Fairleigh Dickinson University.
When she isn’t working, she enjoys spending time with
her two daughters and watching sporting events. She is an
essential member of the United States Police Canine Association.
Captain DeAngelo is assigned as the Deputy Troop “D”
Commander, New Jersey Turnpike. Included in her duties is
the oversight of the three canine teams currently assigned
to Troop “D”. |

Captain
Kathleen Devlin
Captain Kathleen Devlin enlisted in the State Police in June
of 1980. She served in various Troop “A” Stations
in Southern New Jersey before joining the Narcotics/Organized
Crime Unit where she served for 12 years, primarily as an
undercover operative. She served as a Narcotics Supervisor
and Auto Unit Supervisor before returning to Field Operations
as the Assistant Administration Officer.
Captain Devlin was a Squad Supervisor and Operations Officer
for the Camden Anti-Crime Partnership. She then spent approx.
3 years as a Station Commander in Troop “C.” She
is currently serving as the Bureau Chief of Internal Affairs
Investigations Bureau. Captain Devlin is married and resides
in Burlington County. She obtained a Master’s Degree
from Trenton State College, is an adjunct instructor for Seton
Hall University and also instructs at the Burlington County
Police Academy. |

Trooper
I Carla Thomas
In October 1994, Tpr. I Carla Thomas entered the New Jersey
State Police Academy and subsequently became a sworn member
in April 1995. She served at various stations including Bordentown,
Edison, Flemington, Somerville and Bloomfield Stations as
a road duty trooper. Tpr. Thomas has assisted the Narcotics
unit and has served as a liaison between the New Jersey State
Police and various law enforcement agencies over the years.
She is currently assigned to the Executive Protection Unit
where her primary responsibility is the protection of New
Jersey’s Attorney General.
Since high School she has been recognized as being active
in her community and has pledged to make a difference in the
lives of those often overlooked. She actively speaks at various
schools and stresses the importance of education and giving
back to the community. In 2006, Tpr. Thomas received the Captain
William P. Sullivan Award for community service.
Tpr. Thomas was born in Guyana, South America and was raised
in Newark, NJ. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from Rutgers
University and a Master’s from Seton Hall University.
She is a proud mother of two beautiful children and in her
spare time enjoys running her own business, traveling and
reading. |
