ICYMI: New Jersey Board of Public Utilities to Consider Largest Single-State Offshore Wind Solicitation in the Country at Monday Meeting

09/16/2018

TRENTON —The New Jersey Board of Public Utilities (NJBPU) will consider an Order at its September 17 monthly meeting that would open an application window for 1,100 megawatts (MW) of offshore wind capacity. This action would allow developers seeking to build offshore wind facilities in federal waters to submit applications for approval.

If approved, this would represent the largest single-state offshore wind solicitation in the country.

The action would follow Governor Phil Murphy’s announcement last week calling on the NJBPU to establish the schedule for two, 1,200 MW solicitations in 2020 and 2022. This would achieve the Governor’s policy goal of creating 3,500 MW of offshore wind energy capacity by 2030.

When: Monday, September 17, 10 a.m.

Where: State House Annex, Room 6, 125 West State Street, Trenton
