Statement by Governor Murphy on the Retirement of Assemblyman Joseph Egan

“Joseph Egan is a union man through and through. From his time as Business Manager of IBEW Local 456 to his leadership of the New Brunswick City Council to his over 20 years of service in the Legislature, Assemblyman Egan has fought for the rights of workers and organized labor throughout his career. And, as Deputy Majority Leader and as the longest serving Chairman of the Assembly Labor Committee, he built a reputation as a skilled legislator who always stood up for the best interests of his constituents. I wish him well as he prepares to enter retirement from elected office while continuing to serve his IBEW brothers and sisters.”
