Trooper of the Year 1960's - Present

"Honor Above All Honors"

Trooper of the Year ribbon

In 1968, the New Jersey State Police Awards program was expanded to include an annual event that exemplified the highest level of performance accomplished by our Troopers. The "Trooper of the Year" award, with its recognizable red ribbon and gold frame, inspires our Troopers to achieve the goal of ultimate recognition. All recipients are honored for their outstanding performances, an honor which reflects great credit upon themselves and the New Jersey State Police. Their accomplishments have allowed the "Trooper of the Year" to remain an "Honor Above All Honors."
